Irwin Mitchell Rewards Youngsters' Team Spirit


A team of keen young footballers have a sparkling new football strip thanks to a Bristol law firm.

The Bristol Rovers Junior Supporters Club, nicknamed the ‘mini pirates’, have been provided with crisp blue and white cotton kit, custom made in Italy, by Irwin Mitchell solicitors.

The club, established in 1996 for players aged under 14 who share a love of Bristol Rovers, is run by volunteers and does not receive funding from the main club.

The team wore their new kit for the first time at their home game at Southey Avenue Football Fields in Kingswood, on Sunday November 27th, where they played against Keynsham town. The final score was a disappointing 3-1 to Keynsham, but the Mini Pirates were praised for their determination against a strong side.

Luke Trevorrow, patients’ rights expert at Irwin Mitchell, said: “It was great to come down to the team’s home ground and see them play in their new kit.

“Irwin Mitchell were delighted to offer to help the team out and we hope the smart kit will bring them luck in the season”

Team coach Mark Jeffries said: “The boys all play really hard and they deserve a new kit to wear at the games with pride.

“The sponsorship we received enabled us to get the kit made and embroidered. The boys look really smart in it and we hope it will spur the team on to play keep playing their best.”

Bristol Rovers Junior Supporters Club are currently third in the Avon Youth League under 14s Division 4.
